“The Calvinist view is that Jesus Christ died on the cross only for the elect. His shed blood atoned only for the elect. According to them therefore, the blood atonement of Christ is limited - to the elect.
This view is heretical! The Bible could not be more clear.
Jesus Christ died for the sin of the entire world. I John 2:2 says, "And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world." What could be more clear. And of course, John 3:16 makes clear God's plan of redemption is for the entire world. The notion that Christ's atoning work on the cross is limited to the elect is absolute heresy! Absolutely no Scripture teaches that. It stems only from the matrix of Calvinist logic.” - David Sorenson in his book Winning People to Christ pages 153-154.
So much for unity on the essentials!
