I did not become Anglican from being a Baptist like Matthew Barrett but I totally agree with his statement directly below and have experienced it personally as a former Baptist pastor who is now a Latter-day Saint convert. I love and have lived this quote:
“It takes a lot of maturity to be a theologian who is honest with himself and it takes true courage to be real with others, no matter the cost. But that is the only theologian worth being in the end.”- Matthew Barrett
Most people seem to accuse others of following “man made traditions” when they are guilty of the same. Many are not willing to examine a subject from both sides and exercise intellectual integrity because of the reactions of others.
I may not agree with an individual’s conclusions but I appreciate anyone who is willing to change due to true convictions from on going personal study and intellectual integrity.
